That invoice is worth more than you think
When a business pays you late, the law adds interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, plus a fixed sum for every unpaid invoice. Most people never claim either. Put the amount and the date in and see the real figure.
Then, if you want it, a letter before claim written to the rules the court expects, the exact dates that follow it, and a reminder on the day you can ask for judgment.
The total including VAT.
The date on the invoice, not the date you sent it.
This works out in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere until you decide to create a case.
What this does, and what it does not
- Works out interest, compensation and the court fee, and shows the arithmetic.
- Writes the letter before claim your kind of debtor requires, for you to print and send.
- Tells you the dates: when they must reply, when you can claim, when you can ask for judgment.
- Emails you a few days before each one.
- It does not send anything to your debtor. Ever.
- It does not file claims, and it never asks for your court service login.
- It does not tell you whether you will win, because nobody can.
- It does not handle debts owed by private consumers — that is regulated work.
